Brittney Skye entered adult film in 2001 and stayed for nine years, with a long run on the Shane's World series and two feature films built around her by Michael Ninn. Her scene with Tommy Gunn in Porn Star won an AVN Award in 2006. A stunt at the U.S. Open in 2003 put her on national television for a week.

She came into the industry in 2001 from a job painting and furnishing children's rooms, and left it around 2010 with six directing credits, two star vehicles and one award that stuck.

Brittney Skye was born on November 5, 1977 in Los Angeles, California, and spent part of her childhood on the other side of the country: she went to Southampton High School on Long Island in New York, then finished her schooling in California. Before film work she designed children's bedrooms and held a retail job. In a 2005 interview she described her teenage self as a party kid who spent more time snowboarding than sitting in class.
She started on camera in 2001, in her early twenties, and never signed the exclusive studio contracts that were standard for the era. In November 2003 she agreed a deal with Sineplex Entertainment, and ten days later it was amended so that no exclusivity applied. Off set she was a regular at UFC events, collected tattoos and told interviewers she would rather be home than waiting around a set.

Series work, star vehicles and a year as a director
- 2001 First scenes, after a job designing children's bedrooms.

- 2009 to 2010 Last new productions, a documentary appearance, then retirement.
Her first credits land in 2002, and the range is wide from the start: Shane's World 30: Keepin' It Real, Snoop Dogg's Hustlaz: Diary of a Pimp for Hustler Video, and The Violation of Ashley Blue. The Shane's World series became the spine of her filmography, the College Invasion titles included. Around it she worked for New Sensations, Digital Playground, Teravision, Hustler and Nicole London's Outback Productions.
Directing began in 2003 and ended in 2006 with six titles behind the camera. Michael Ninn built two features around her in 2005, Exposed: Brittney Skye and Evoke: Brittney Skye, having already directed her in the scene that won her the 2006 AVN Award. That same year she turns up uncredited in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and in 2009 she appears as herself in the documentary Naked Ambition. New productions stop there.
