FAQ
Common questions
Short answers, with the disagreements between sources left where they are.
Who is Brittney Skye?
An American adult film performer and director from Los Angeles, born November 5, 1977 and active from 2001 to 2010. She is known for the Shane's World series, for two Michael Ninn features built around her, and for a stunt at the 2003 U.S. Open that led the national news.
When and where was she born?
November 5, 1977. Her own bio says Los Angeles, California, and IAFD records the same birthplace. A few film databases carry a different city, but nothing supports it against her own account.
What is her legal name?
Brandie Rae Rothwell is the name used in the 2003 court report of the U.S. Open case. Some sources expand it with an extra first name; only the court record version is documented.
What happened at the 2003 U.S. Open?
On June 15, 2003, during the final round at Olympia Fields, she ran onto the green with GoldenPalace.com written across her chest and back and tried to hand Jim Furyk a flower. It was a paid promotion for an online casino and it went out on national television, which brought a charge of one count of disorderly conduct. She missed an initial court date in July 2003 and a new one was set.
Did she win any awards?
One competitive win is documented: Best Couples Sex Scene, Video at the 2006 AVN Awards, for Porn Star with Tommy Gunn, presented on January 7, 2006. That ceremony also nominated her for Female Performer of the Year and for Best Actress, Video. Her own bio records a 2004 Best New Starlet nomination as well.
How tall is she?
165 cm, or 5 ft 5 in, according to IAFD, with measurements listed as 32D-23-34. Other databases give slightly different figures, and AVN's archived profile has her an inch taller.
Was she in any mainstream films?
In a small way, twice. She is credited without a name as a porn actress in The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), and she appears as herself in the 2009 documentary Naked Ambition: An R Rated Look at an X Rated Industry. She also has a role in the horror-porn feature GrubGirl.
Does she have an official website?
No. Her historic domains, brittneyskye.com and brittneyskyexxx.com, are dead or parked, and no replacement has appeared.
Is she on X?
Yes, at @brittneyskye69. The account was created on April 21, 2009 and is still active; IAFD lists that handle as her website, and it is the only first-party channel she has.
When did she retire?
Around 2009 to 2010. IAFD ends her performing years in 2010, TMDB states she retired in 2010, and other databases record 2009. Everything released after that is compilation or archive footage.
How can I be sure this is the same Brittney Skye?
Her records chain together across Wikidata, IAFD, IMDb, TMDB and the Adult Film Database, and the handle @brittneyskye69 repeats in all of them. Similar names belong to other people: Brittney Sykes is a WNBA player and Brooke Skye is a different performer. Some press from 2005 to 2007 spelled her name with a single t, and some tube sites repackage her old scenes as new releases.
What is she known for away from the industry?
The 2003 U.S. Open stunt is the mainstream story. Less widely known is her MMA fandom: she was a regular at UFC events through the 2000s and modelled for the clothing label TapOut.
